Alabaster vs. Kindred

A side-by-side comparison of two similar Bible projects that feature individual books of the Bible in a modern format filled with beautiful imagery.

Earlier this week, I reviewed the new Gospel of Luke from KINDRED, and I noted that KINDRED has several similarities with Alabaster:

“Both brands create a version of individual books of the Bible that are clean, modern, and filled with vibrant imagery. But they’re also different in several significant ways: size, translation, paper type, photography, and inclusion of textual notes. I certainly think there’s room for both, not only in the Bible publishing world, but also on your desk or coffee table.”

I quickly received several comments on my YouTube video and Instagram account from folks who wanted to know more about how they compare, so I decided to create a second video that shows the two side by side.

Here’s the video, and keep scrolling to see the specs.

Here’s a quick overview of the features of each of these bibles.
