Cambridge ESV Diadem Hardcover

An all-new size for one of Cambridge’s most beloved designs.

A few months ago I wrote a blog post called “A Case for the Midsize Quentel” that was essentially my attempt to convince Schuyler Bibles to create something in between their Quentel and Personal Size Quentel (in case you’re wondering… no, they did not call me to tell me that I was a genius and that they would get right to work on it… oh well). The reason for this blog post was pretty simple: I review a lot of Bibles, and I think we have an overabundance of great large Bibles, a fair share of great small Bibles, and not enough great midsize Bibles.

Is anyone else thinking of Goldilocks right now?

So imagine how delighted I was when Cambridge announced their new Diadem Reference Bible, an expanded version of their beloved Pitt Minion that fits squarely into the “midsize” Bible category. If you saw my unboxing video, you know I was quite impressed with the hardcover editions of the Diadem when they first arrived, and now that I’ve spent some more time with these Bibles, I can tell you that they are a fantastic edition to the Cambridge family.

You can watch my video review below to see a full walkthrough of the ESV Diadem, and keep scrolling to read my full review with high-resolution photos.

Right For You?

I’m a big fan of the Pitt Minion, but the older I get, the harder it is for me to truly enjoy reading it’s 6.75pt typeface. If you resonate with that, then the Diadem offers the same great reading experience with a 20% larger typesetting. These hardcover editions are very nicely designed, and they are certainly worth the price tag.
