NKJV New Testament, Flipback Edition

A closer look at this unique new Bible from Thomas Nelson.

It’s been a good year for Thomas Nelson. If you go back and check out my reviews of their recent releases, you’ll find that I’ve been quite impressed with everything from their premium Bibles to their less expensive editions. They’ve just been making really great stuff.

Their most recent new release is a unique little NKJV New Testament called the Flipback Edition. This unique Bible is a partnership between Thomas Nelson and Royal Jongbloed in the Netherlands that truly flips the Bible.

Check out the video below to see my first impressions, and keep scrolling for more details and links to where you can purchase a copy.

NKJV Flipback New Testament – Overview

The basic idea of the Flipback New Testament is that you read the text from the top down, instead of left to right. For younger generations who are native users of digital devices, this is a concept that will feel quite familiar. As you can see in the video, it took me a minute to get used to it, but I really like the overall concept.

This feels like a cool, modern version of the old pocket New Testaments that many of us got when we were baptized as kids, and the fact that they were able to use a 9pt typeface is honestly a bit bewildering. It’s a very SMALL Bible with a comfortable LARGE font.

For me, this is a unique little Bible that will be a conversation starter. And it will certainly make a great gift.
