ESV Concise Study Bible

Is this my new favorite Study Bible?

Confession: the new ESV Concise Study Bible from Crossway wasn’t really on my radar when it was released last fall. I mean, I knew it was available, but I didn’t really give it much thought.

Then people started asking me about it.

A bunch of people.

At one point, it felt like I couldn’t go more than a day or two without someone mentioning it to me, usually to ask if I was planning to do a review. This is clearly a Bible that piqued the curiosity of the many, so I ordered one up.

I was expecting an abridged version of Crossway’s flagship ESV Study Bible (which I have reviewed here), but that’s not what this Bible is. Sure, it does have some of the same content as that Bible, but it also has material from two of Crossway’s other study Bibles, as well as a significant amount of new material.

It’s also a fantastic size… small enough to be light and portable, but not so small that the font is too tiny to read.

Suffice it to say, I’m quite impressed with the ESV Concise Study Bible, and I think it’s going to be a great Bible for a lot of people.

Right For You?

If you’re looking for a Study Bible that’s not insanely big and overly dense, the ESV Concise Study Bible is a great option. And as I mentioned in my video review, I think this is a great gift idea for friends or neighbors who might be looking for some help when it comes to understanding the Bible.
