NLT One Step Closer Bible (Draft)
A new NLT Bible from Candace Cameron Bure and DaySpring.
I was on Amazon one day a few weeks ago, and I noticed that a new Bible was the bestseller of the week for Christian books and resources. That Bible was the NLT One Step Closer Bible, a new collaboration between actress Candace Cameron Bure, DaySpring, and Tyndale Bibles.
I decided to order a copy and ask Becca to do a review with me. As you’ll soon see… we had a lot of fun.
Enjoy the video, and keep scrolling for more details and photos.
NLT One Step Closer Bible – Overview
The One Step Closer Bible is the latest collaboration between Candace Cameron Bure and DaySpring (the actress and greeting card company have an entire collection of products together). It’s a beautifully designed Bible that pairs the New Living Translation with a unique set of study tools, including book introductions, applications notes (nearly 500 in-text notes designed to help readers understand how the truths found in the Bible apply to life), and a HelpFinder Index (thousands of verses and notes on over 100 topics).
The text block of the One Step Closer Bible is 6.25” wide and 8.5” tall, and it measures about 1.375” thick, including the cover. Inside you’ll find an 8pt typeface in two columns with wide margins for notes. The layout is nicely organized with a balanced flow between the scriptural text and the additional study material to create a Bible that is very easy to use. The overall look and feel is very clean and modern. This is a Bible that was designed with a lot of attention to detail.

A Helpful Tool
The combination of the New Living Translation with the provided study tools makes the One Step Closer Bible a helpful tool for new Christians or those who are looking for a way to apply the Bible to their everyday lives. “For many years I viewed the Bible as a book I would go to for big answers during big life moments,” says Candace Cameron Bure, “But when I discovered that this Book held the answers to everything from how to respond when I disagree with a loved one to how to rest even on my busiest days, it completely changed my life.”
This is a Bible designed to help readers answer the practical questions they face in everyday life, and I think it’s awesome that Candace would use her influence to create something like this to help others engage with the Bible.
Bottom Line:
Great design, beautiful aesthetics, and helpful application tools are the ingredients that make up the NLT One Step Closer Bible. If you have someone in your life that might enjoy this Bible, I think it would make a great gift idea.
